Work Lights

Work lights are used for a wide variety of applications from illuminating small work places to large job sites. A series of such lights can be arranged to facilitate technicians at work. They vary in the type of illumination source they use - LEDs, fluorescent lights, halogen lights etc. Typically, these lights can work for long hours and have different setting options that can vary light intensity. Sometimes dual mode power switches also serve this purpose.

As these gadgets find usage in different working environments, it is necessary that they are robust, water resistant, shock resistant and portable. There are both corded and cordless (battery operated) varieties and the latter are best suited, as they can be moved from place to place without the intrusion of wires and the need to look for electrical sockets to plug in. A few models allow both corded and cordless operations. Another beneficial feature of these lights is their flexibility, which allows precise positioning of the device. There are models that come with adjustable legs that enable the device to clasp on to almost anything. Features that prevent heat emissions and hazards that may follow are vital.

Most of the battery operated models come with built in NiMH rechargeable batteries. ABS casings and rubber bumpers provide the necessary resistance against impact. The compact type of work lights can be kept in vehicles for emergency situations. Work lights are also used in remote locations and for rescue operations too.

Printer Ink

The quality of the output produced by computer printers or fax machines is greatly influenced by the type of printer ink used. While some type of printers and most fax machines use only black ink, there are the others that use coloured ink. Coloured printing requires two cartridges - one with black ink and one with the primary colours red, blue and green or separate cartridges for each of them. The ink cartridge is a reservoir of ink with a metal heating element. Once the printer receives a signal to print, a tiny current flows through this metal piece and warms the ink, which then exceeds out of the nozzle and is spread on the paper.

There are other factors like paper quality, type of ink cartridge, printer efficiency etc. Whatever be the printer ink colour, it is important to use compatible cartridges for guaranteed print quality. Inkjet printers (connected to computers and fax machines) use inkjet cartridges and laser printers use toners. On comparison laser printers are faster, efficient and expensive than inkjets. Most of the printer inks can be refilled on a DIY basis itself and those that cannot be refilled are remanufactured. This can also save a lot of money. HP, Canon, Epson, Lexmark are the prominent names offering unparalleled types of printers and premium printer inks.
