Blueray an Alternative for HD DVD
Bluray is a new technology that is used to watch videos in high quality. Majority of the studios are now using bluray and high definition DVD format to play the movies. It gives sharper and brighter picture when compared to the other DVD formats. The blu-ray is considered as the next generation video format which uses the high storage optical disc. These have a higher storage capacity than the normal DVD formats. The storage capacity of the bluray disc is 50GB.
The technical features that are available in Bluray discs are blue laser which is used to read and write the data. MPEG, H264 and VC1 are some of the video formats that support the device. Dolby digital plus, Uncompressed PCM are some of the audio formats supports the bluray discs. The picture resolution provided by the discs is 1080p and the connections available with the disc are the HDMI or DVI connections. The software that is used in the Blu-ray for interactive features is BD-Java.
The disc is copyright protected by ICT, BD-ROM Mark and AACS. The high data storage and the availability of popular titles are available only in the bluray format. Connection types that are available in blu-ray players are multiple video output, component video connection, S-video output, digital optical & coaxial and analog stereo audio outputs and 5.1 channel analog audio outputs.
The various types of bluray discs are low capacity blu ray disc, mini blu-ray disc, BD-R and BD-RE discs, blu-ray hybrid discs and AVCREC discs. The digital information that is stored in the optical discs that have spiral paths. When compared with HD-DVD, the blu-ray discs are more compatible in terms of storage capacity and high quality output. The data in the blu-ray disc are emitted with the help of the laser beam for quality pictures with high resolution. It is the best alternative for the DVD, for viewing high quality pictures through blu-ray discs with unmatchable technology.
